If you ask him, Mark would tell you that singing and composing is not optional for him. In fact, he would echo what Dennis Jernigan said in the March/April 2004 issue of Worship Leader Magazine, “If you know you’ll die if you don’t write songs, then you should probably go for it.”
Mark definitely has a passion for souls as Matthew 28:18-20 “…go and make disciples…” and 2 Peter 3:9 “…not wanting anyone to perish…” are scriptures that fuel his desires to be used as a vessel of honor unto the Lord. “You said” is the title of another song he wrote in which Mark is having a dialogue with his Heavenly Father reminding Him of what He said in the bible. “Lord You said who would stand in the gap, Lord You said ask for the nations, here I am, I’m answering Your call.”
